Ms. Eileen E. San Juan is the Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer (LEIPO) of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, Philippines since July 2013. She heads the Cagayan de Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (ORO-TIPC) responsible for programs to promote the city, work on sustaining the city’s competitiveness ranking, organize and arrange incoming and outgoing trade missions, administer the local investment incentives. She also coordinates special projects of the local government especially under official development assistance (ODA) and some national-funded special projects.
She is the Focal Person for various projects and undertakings of the city government with national and international agencies such as – the United States Agency for Development (USAID), partnership with German organization Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung; with UN Habitat projects and also projects with the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). She is also the Focal Person for Cagayan de Oro’s sister-city relations, and thus coordinate trade missions and exchange visits and projects with current sister cities in China, South Korea, Taiwan and USA.
Her staunch support in tourism development and investment promotions reflects on her being a founding member and a Trustee for more than 15 years with Promote NorMin Foundation Inc., and a Past President and Director for over 20 years of the Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (COHARA). She has been a member of the Cagayan de Oro City Tourism Council for several years and is currently the Chairperson for Tourism Promotions and Events responsible in establishing and institutionalizing four major annual festivals/events in the city. She was with the Board of the Tourism Congress of the Philippines for 6 years and served as Vice-President for Mindanao.
